This book provides step by step tips, real life stories, and downloadable tools, sharing lessons learned to save you time and brain power.

As HR professionals we face the challenge of navigating some of the most confrontational and emotionally charged situations in the workplace.

In this game-changing book, Porter (appointed Starbucks UK & Ireland HR Director at age 29) reveals the HR Superstar Method and Attributes that set apart the HR Superstars from the HR crowd.

Each Chapter provides a practical ‘how to’ guide to manage the generalist HR activities that we face every day.  From recruitment through to redundancies or developing a people strategy - no theory, no textbook – just how you actually ‘do’ it.

Sandra Porter – author, How to be an HR Superstar – is an HR leader who understands the strategic and commercial significance of the HR function in ensuring that businesses – and their people – thrive.

She developed and refined the HR Superstar System during a career that has seen her work for organisations including HBOS, O2, Clinton Cards and Starbucks UK & Ireland, where she was appointed to sit on the board aged just 29.
Sandra was taught how to make the influence of forward-thinking human resources felt in the boardroom by Dave Ulrich, the ‘father of modern HR’, on the prestigious Human Resources Executive Programme at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.
She is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, a neuro-linguistic programming practitioner and an expert psychometric tester. In writing this book, Sandra set out to create the sort of practical guide to HR that she wished she had had at the start of her career – and which, as an HR leader, she wanted to be able to give to junior colleagues.
Sandra now runs her own HR consultancy, providing outsourced human resources expertise to a fast-growing client base. She lives with her two young children, Adam and Emily, and their Romanian rescue dog, Luna. Sandra has, on occasion, been known to sit still for longer than a minute.

“Wow, this book is my life saver. HR Superstar has become my desktop buddy that I dip in and out of daily to manage the drama of HR. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to ‘up their game’ in HR. Brilliant!”
